(what is) Film: The Game is a video game released in 2000 for the PlayStation and Dreamcast. It is the only game to be based on an FX Networks property.

Plot[]

Wes Shapiro and his friends are invited to an extravagant mansion to attend an exclusive screening. However, this turns out to be a trap devised by Les Shapiro and Jon Schroder who want to kill the gang so they could work on movies unopposed.

Gameplay[]

You start off in a hub world as a randomly generated character from the show and you choose whatever level you want to play (only the final level is closed off until you beat the others), which is represented by a movie screen. The game gives the atmosphere that each character is going through a movie.

You primarily play as Wes as you go into different movies and try to rescue your friends. In the final level, everyone works together to operate a giant robot and fight Les and Jon.

Reception[]

The game received mixed to average reviews. The Dreamcast port is considered to be the definitive version.
