The Chain Chomp is an enemy in the Mario franchise. It will lunge at the player whenever they come close. Otherwise, it will move around within the limits of its stake. It also appears as an item in the Mario Kart series, where it pulls the kart forward at high speeds, though it's hard to control and will either send the player flying into items or off the track. Either event will cause the Chain Chomp to disconnect from the kart.

Koopa Kart: Double Trouble!![]
The Chain Chomp is an item exclusive to Koopa Kart: Double Trouble!!, where it can be obtained from 5th to 10th place. It is Monty Mole and Popple's Special Item. It has the same function as in Mario Kart: Double Dash!!, except it's easier to control, as the player can move the Control Stick to align themselves. It is replaced by the Bullet Bill as of Koopa Kart DS.
