Chuck E. Cheese's Huge Adventure is a 2007 platform game developed and published by Ubisoft for various console platforms, PC, and mobile phones.

Gameplay[]

Chuck E. Cheese's Huge Adventure's gameplay is very similar to that of Crash Bandicoot, and requires the player to move through various settings in 24 levels in four warp rooms. The four level themes are Cheesy Hills, Cheese E. Street, Count Chuckula's Mansion, and Lord Cheddar's Lair. Chuck E. has to dodge various enemies and obstacles throughout the levels and defeat bosses at the end of each warp room. There are also bonus levels where he has to outrun Bigfoot, an evil monster truck, a ghost hand, and a giant boulder, respectively. The viewpoint of the levels can change between a 2D side-scrolling perspective and a 3D perspective. Re-doing the levels in order to beat Jasper's time in same, gives the player advantages in the game.

The player has four lives that can increase by finding special items. Each life gives Chuck E. two opportunities to be touched by the enemy; the first time is touched, he becomes limpy and throws berserk to the enemies, the second time, he loses a life. Chuck E. can also unlock new outfits, which alter cutscenes and idle animations (such as Chuck E. blowing a whistle if he is dressed like a coach).

Plot[]

The game begins with Chuck E. Cheese, Jasper T. Jowls, and Pasqually The Chef watching Helen Henny doing a television report on the secret lair of the evil sorcerer Lord Cheddar. As she tells the story, she is kidnapped by the sorcerer. Chuck E. & Jasper then decide to use Pasqually's new invention, the "Transport Tubal Teleport Machine", to track down Lord Cheddar and Helen. However, Jasper enters the machine to quickly, and it doesn't have enough power to get the lair, and to get the machine working again, Chuck must go on a journey to help boost the machine's power. Along the way, he must compete with Jasper, reverse the spells that Lord Cheddar put on Mr. Munch's pizza slices, and defeat several bosses, including the Pizza Bandits and Count Chuckula. In the end, Chuck E. is able to locate Lord Cheddar; he defeats him and rescues Helen. The lair then begins to collapse, but thankfully Pasqually is able to teleport them back to his lab, where Chuck E. gets a kiss from Helen for saving her.

Development[]

The Xbox 360 and PC versions of the game were developed by Ubisoft Montreal in a collaboration with Phoenix Studio. The Wii, PS2, PSP and DS versions of the game are built on the OpenSpace engine. The score for Chuck E. Cheese's Huge Adventure was composed by Shawn K. Clement. The PSP version is completely original from the Xbox 360 version, those consoles being too different; the PSP version was developed in Casablanca (Morocco). The mobile version was developed by DeValley.
