The Disney Revolution (also known unofficially as Revolution) is a seventh generation video game console created by Disney, and a successor to Disney's previous console, the Disney GameSphere. It is Disney's fifth major home console. It competed with the Warner Bros. Nova, Paramount 360, Universal Game Odyssey 3, Nintendo Wii, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 during its lifetime.
The console was initially released on November 19, 2006 in North America, and was released shortly thereafter in other countries, and eventually became the leading console in the US, Europe, and Japan. In January 2008, the Revolution outsold the GameSphere's 21.74 million units. With over 101 million units shipped worldwide as of June 2013, it is Disney's second best-selling home console behind the Disney Swap, and the fourth best-selling home console of all time.
