Sonic the Hedgehog: The Darkness Rises is a crossover game featuring characters from Sonic, Spyro, Disney, Nickelodeon, and 20th Century Fox properties that is published by SEGA in partnership with Activision and WB Games and developed by Sonic Team in association with Krome Studios and Heavy Iron Studios. It was released for the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo Switch, and Steam.

Gameplay[]
The gameplay in this game is kind of like the gameplay style of the 3 main Kingdom Hearts games and Sonic Heroes, since you control 3 characters at once, like in Sonic Heroes, but you can also switch between characters, too, like in Kingdom Hearts.
As with Nicktoons: Battle for Volcano Island, you can also unlock alternate costumes for the characters to use in-game by purchasing them from the shop during gameplay.
