Ice Age DS or also Ice Age is a platform video game published by Ubi Soft Entertainment and developed by Eurocom Entertainment Software based on the 2002 computer-animated film of the same name by 20th Century Fox and Blue Sky Studios. It was released for the Nintendo DS in 2002, along with its PS1 and GBA versions (developed by A2M). which has almost the same gameplay as the GBA version.
Plot[]
The animals migrate to escape the cold that is coming, but a mammoth named Manfred was going the opposite way while a sloth named Sid was sleeping on top of a tree, but Sid wakes up and sees that his family has abandoned him, then Sid sees a sloth named Sylvia Sid manages to distract her to escape.
but Sid gets distracted and sees a dandelion and Sid eats it but he didn't know it was food for two rhinos so Sid starts to run away from the rhinos and accidentally hits Manfred who turns around and sees that the sloth was needing Manfred's help to defeat the two rhinos.
Manfred defeats him and Sid thanks him. Meanwhile, a pack of tigers led by Soto sees a village of humans. Soto, to avenge the death of the pack members, tries to attack the village, but one of the humans escapes with her baby. The mother had to throw herself into a waterfall to save the baby. The mother, with little strength, gives the baby to Manfred to protect the baby. Manfred and Sid meet Diego, who was setting a trap for Manfred. Sid and the baby must now bring the baby back to the village.
So the three had to go through several problems like defeating the Dodos because of the melon, going through the ice cave and going through the lava river where at that moment Manfred saves Diego and where Diego changes his mind and stays with his true friends when they arrive at Half Peak Diego tells Soto about his plan, Sid and Manfred get scared and start to get angry with Diego but Diego had a plan.
Manfred and Diego had to defeat Soto, Soto wounds Diego, Manfred gets angry and kills Soto, Sid, Manfred and the baby are sad, they leave and Manfred and Sid give the baby to the humans, they turn around and see that Diego was alive and then Manfred, Sid and Diego start to go to the south, the end.

Gameplay[]
This game is developed by Eurocom Entertainment Software, which has the same engine as Toy Story 3, except as a side-scroller, like the two video games, A Crash of the Titans and Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa its versions for DS.
Items[]
- Acorns - Collect 50 of them all in a level to gain full health and earn a movie clip from the Ice Age (2002) movie.
- I-C-E - Spell "ice" to gain a new life.
- Strawberries - Collect these to refill your health meter.
- Rocks - Used to hit enemies with them. Sid can throw them with his hands, Manny can shoot them with his trunk, and Diego can throw them with his claws.

- Trunk Attack - Manny uses this move to knock down enemies.
- Body Slam - Manny uses this move in air to slam his body on the ground damaging enemies.
Sid[]
- Spin - Sid uses this move to knock down enemies. Charge it up to a more powerful spin, but be careful, you'll be dizzy after that! (same as Buzz Lightyear's spin move from Toy Story 2: Buzz Lightyear to the Rescue!)
- Body Slam - Sid uses this move in air to slam his body on the ground damaging enemies.

- Claw Attack - Diego uses this move to knock down enemies.

Notes[]
- Note that the models used for Manny Sid and Diego were later reused for Ice Age 2: The Meltdown for DS along with the soundtrack for some stages.
- Sylvia was originally supposed to be in the film but this was scrapped for unknown reasons.
- Interestingly, there is a sixth tiger with a yellowish coloration and a black stripe on its back in Soto's pack, which is called Nick, which is the name of a character who should be in the film, just like Sylvia.
- Interestingly, the ice cave stage has enemies and a boss that are based on scenes from the film, which are the freeze fish and the freeze sloths, and the boss is the Dino Rex, which is the same frozen tyrannosaurus from the first film and, incredibly, the model is almost similar to that of the mother dino from Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs. The difference is that it has blue skin and is much smaller, having the size of Manny compared to its counterpart from the third film from 2009.
- For some reason the game calls Manny an elephant instead of a mammoth. This strangeness is also true of the glyptodons, which are called turtles.
- Soto's sounds are similar to Simba from Disney's Lion King.
- The sounds of Dino Rex seem like a mix between the sound of Godzilla from 1954 mixed with Rex from the Jurassic Park saga and Sound Ideas, MONSTER - ROAR, ANIMAL.
- It is not known why Scrat does not appear in the game but inside the files there is a model of Scrat called untitled.nsbmd which has texture and the model is totally different that would enter the second game.
